We look forward to seeing you here!

West-Zeeuws-Vlaanderen

Sint Kruis

The landscape around St Kruis [Sinte Kruus] is one of the most authentic of West Zeelandic Flanders. It is particularly beautiful in early summer when the wheat and flax start to ripen. You can cycle peacefully between the fields which are intersected by rustic creeks. Civilisation seems far away here. The village cafe offers refreshments. Horses used to be shoed here, but today you can stop at Greetje for a pint.

De Peperbusse
The church and tower date from the 14th century; the stubby tower once served as a beacon for shipping in the Zwin to and from Sluis, when that water was still navigable. The tower is also known colloquially as 'De Peperbusse'.
